Beechwood Sacred Heart School have launched a brand new Forest School.

The Forest School offers chances for children to build on the skills, experience, confidence and independence they have learnt in the classroom. It is a child focused outdoor setting committed to developing and creating new skills in a creative and different environment.

Used in all weathers, it promotes holistic development and is suitable for children of all ages and abilities. And, due to the all-inclusive nature of it, all students are able to participate fully, feel satisfied and achieve things not possible inside the confines of a classroom.

Children are provided with regular access to forest school activities. This added exposure gives children the opportunity to take on new challenges, promote self-esteem, perseverance and helps learn to ask for support, which in turn aids and promotes teamwork and social interaction.

You can find out more about the new facilities by getting involved with the ‘Beechwood Bear Hunt’ on Friday June 22 from 2pm to 3.30pm. The children will have the opportunity to experience Pre-Prep and take part in activities before heading outside to join in the search.

During the afternoon parents are invited to look around the school and speak to the Early Years staff in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
