Arty retreat celebrates fourth birthday with classes for free

A LOCAL creative space in Tunbridge Wells is giving away four free art and music sessions to celebrate its fourth birthday.

Arty Farty Retreat in Southborough is offers workshops in art, music, singing, poetry, creative writing, expression therapy and more.

As part of its fourth birthday celebrations, the Retreat is giving back to the community that has supported it over the years by making its sessions more affordable – and giving away free classes.

Arty Farty Retreat will offer four, two-hour art or music sessions to support a community group, school or care home within the borough of Tunbridge Wells.

Groups who are interested should email: giveaway@artyfartyretreat.co.uk with the subject line ‘Birthday giveaway’.

The message should explain who is applying and why they should win one of the sessions.

Entries will close on January 27, 2023 and the winners will be announced on January 31, 2023.

Customers will also be given the chance pay for their sessions on a half-termly basis instead of paying for a full term to make budgeting at this time a little bit easier.

Arty Farty will also continue to offer community groups and registered charities a discounted rate on their outreach sessions to ensure they are as affordable as possible.

Nell Price, Founder, said: “We are so proud of what Arty Farty Retreat has achieved in the last four years in providing many people with a space where they can relax, create, collaborate and express themselves.

“The people in our community are the beating heart of what we do, and we are acutely aware of the cost-of-living crisis and the economic struggle many in our local community are facing.”

Arty Farty Retreat was created in 2017 by Nell Price, a Community Artist, Creative Therapist and the Head of a Hospice Day Service.

The space aims to provide an inspirational space for everyone, regardless of ability, age or background, to fill the local community with opportunities to explore the arts.

They work closely with community groups to deliver outreach projects for schools and care homes, and bookable one-to-one sessions for adults and young people.
