Arriva scraps Tunbridge Wells Town Hopper ticket

Gatwick Campaigners

Arriva has scrapped its popular Tunbridge Wells Town Hopper ticket.

In this scheme the bus company allowed passengers to make unlimited journeys around the town centre all day for £1.60. It ran for the final time on Sunday [April 29].

Instead the firm has launched a new deal, which charges £1.50 for all single journeys made in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge after 7pm every night.

Arriva has clarified the deal extends to just the ‘ticket zone’ which covers both towns and extends from Hildenborough at its north to Hawkenbury at its south.

This limited-time deal ends on August 1.

Lauren Edmonds Marketing Manager Arriva Kent and Surrey, explained: ‘The ticket has been a great success in other areas.

‘We have decided to launch the offer for our Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge passengers, so they can enjoy all the benefits of reduced travel after 7pm.

‘We hope that this ticket offer encourages more passengers onto the buses for their evenings out, particularly within the town centres, which are lively during the evening.

‘The reduced fare provides a great excuse to get out and enjoy what Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge have to offer.’
