Why STEAK is cutting it on the foodie scene

STEAK is One Warwick Park Hotel’s flagship restaurant. Located on Chapel Place, away from the bustle of the town centre and surrounded by a cluster of artisan shops and cool bars it’s certainly enjoyed brisk trade since it opened earlier this year.

Headed up by renowned chef Andre Woodward it specialises in quality cuts of beef which range from ribeye, sirloin, rump and filet according to supply and demand.

STEAK’s signature cuts are served with chunky chips and a selection of sauces including smoked bacon & dolcelatte butter Garlic & herb butter Peppercorn sauce Chimichurri sauce.

But the popular restaurant also boasts an excellent variety of other delicious dishes too.

Peruse its tempting menu and you’ll find treats such as panko crusted halloumi, crispy fried squid, pan-fried smoky potato gnocchi and even a vegan burger with roasted cauliflower steak – which has proved to be just as popular as its carnivore counterparts.

When it comes to main courses STEAK offers two meat-free options: a vegan burger with roasted cauliflower steak and pan-fried smoky potato gnocchi.

Admittedly though steak is by far its most popular offering and each comes from 30 day dry aged Dexter beef cattle, locally sourced from the excellent Southborough Butchers.

On December 25 however the focus will be on traditional turkey but carnivores will still have a selection of meat treats to choose from on the menu including filet of Hereford beef carpaccio to accompany the delicious roasted free range turkey with chestnut stuffing being served up.

The mirrored walls give the impression that the restaurant is bigger than it is but also manages to add an air of intimacy as tables are sectioned off from each other with dividers, giving it an exclusive – and also safe socially distanced – feel.

And it feels extra special right now thanks to the gorgeous and super stylish decorations which embellish every corner of it. If you want to step into the spirit of Christmas this is certainly the place to come…
