The American dream is coming to Eridge Park in Tunbridge Wells

A NEW music festival is being held in a stunning venue near Tunbridge Wells this summer, bringing with it a supersized portion of Americana.

Black Deer is coming to Eridge Park on June 22-24 with a fusion of country, folk, blues, bluegrass and rock music, combined with a rich array of US-style food and culture.

Passenger, aka Michael David Rosenberg, will be among the headlining acts. The award-winning singer–songwriter from Brighton had a No 1 in 17 countries with his hit Let Her Go, and registered 1.7billion views on YouTube.

Ward Thomas will be bringing their brand of modern country. The twin sisters’ album Cartwheels became the first album by a UK country act to reach No 1 in the charts last year.

Sam Beam – better known as Iron & Wine – will also be performing, along with Grammy winner Jason Isbell and his band The 400 Unit, and many other acts.

Authentic meats and smoky whiskys will be on offer alongside customised motorbike showcases and storytellings delivered by ‘cultural pioneers’.

Jon Finch and Ben Merrington, who have opened five American smokehouse restaurants in the UK and jointly wrote a bestselling meat cookbook, will be bringing their barbecue expertise to
the party.

There will also be artisan wares and a range of activities from bourbon tasting and wood–chopping to leather craft and denim customising.

It will be a family friendly event and children will be able to enjoy outdoor adventures, cinema, ukulele lessons and a special stage dedicated for budding young talents.
