Pretty in pink

Pretty in pink

There was a time when pink was reserved solely for decorating little girls’ bedrooms but now it’s enjoying an altogether more grown-up look thanks to the plethora of pink statement seating, rugs, paints and printed fabrics that are cropping up in numerous interiors collections.

LOOKING GOOD: Gold star mirror, £49, Homesense, available from selected Homesense stores nationwide

Whether you go for a hot pink sofa or a selection of more subtle dusky shades, one thing is for sure: this tonal hue is bound to give a room more visual interest. Our favourite has to be the more subtle approach to the pink palette as seen in this beautifully styled room by John Lewis. The powdery shades are further enhanced by touches of metallic gold and the odd grey hit here and there. It’s safe to say we’re tickled pink by this particular trend.

SITTING PRETTY: Titus armchair, £325, Michael Murphy Home Furnishing, www.michaelmurphy.ie
