Police launch operation ‘Love Your Neighbour’ in Tonbridge

KENT POLICE’S Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are asking people in the town to keep an eye out for vulnerable or isolated neighbours as part of a new initiative launched this month.

Kent Police will be working alongside The Trench Partnership to launch Love Your Neighbour, a service which encourages people in Tonbridge to report concerns about anyone who may need help.

PCSO Linda Baker said: “The aim of the scheme is to ask local residents to let us know if they are concerned about someone that lives nearby who may be lonely, isolated or just generally struggling.

“It is about checking on those who are most vulnerable within our communities, such as an elderly person living alone who has no one to visit them.”

She added: “By raising awareness among neighbours we can hopefully identify those in need of help or support and put them in touch with the relevant agencies.”

The project will only operate in the Trench Wood area on a trial basis at first but could be expanded to include the whole town.

If you would like to pass on your concerns please email Kent Police in confidence at csu.tonbridge.and.malling@kent.pnn.police.uk.

Alternatively, visit PCSO Linda Baker at Tonbridge Baptist Church on Darenth Avenue on April 11 or May 23 from 10-11am.
