Hockey: Tunbridge Wells run riot at Henley

TUNBRIDGE WELLS signed off in style before the Christmas break with a thumping win at Henley in South Premier League Division One.

Wells had faced a difficult run of matches, leaving their season in the balance in a very tightly contested league.

Their first goal came from a sharp breakaway down the left flank, with an incisive move allowing James Lester to push into a gaping net.

Man of the Match James Beck had an excellent game on the right touchline as more precision passing saw Sam George score twice.

Ben Allberry was on target with an excellent finish and Sam Clarke-Knowles also scored to put the visitors 5-0 up at the break.

A swift counterattack in the second half saw Allberry score his second, and Russell Self finished superbly after a rampant run.

Beck also got on the scoresheet with a drag flick goal at a short corner and George completed his hat-trick before the end.
