Hockey: Hunt scores twice but Tunbridge Wells Ladies concede late

Pam Mills

TWO goals from skipper Jen Hunt were not enough to bring Wells Ladies victory at Holcombe.

Holcombe scored within inside the first quarter of an hour. This galvanised the visitors, who had started slowly. They were on level terms soon after as Hunt fired home in style from a short corner.

In the second half Holcombe took the lead again. But Wells’ determination was clear to see as they equalised again through Hunt.

But the home side stole the points in the last minute with a short corner goal put away from the tightest of angles.

The result which sees Wells drop to fifth in East Region Division One South.

Next they play Folkestone at Hawkenbury on Saturday [November 25, 1pm start].
