Gymnastics: Tonbridge Tigers earn their stripes

TIGERS Gymnastics Centre in Tonbridge is celebrating after 11 of its acrobatic performers qualified for two separate British Championships.

The club, which is now based at the Jump In trampoline park on Morley Road, saw 27 of its NDP and IDP Level acrobatic gymnasts compete at the Regional Qualifiers last month.

They will now head for the national finals in Stoke on Trent and Southampton.

This competition is the last in a series that saw 20 Tigers gymnasts compete nationally in Stoke for the British Tournament and at the World Cup held in Portugal.

Tigers, who are the current European champions and world silver medallists, finished second at both events.

Their Head Coach, Chris Rogers, who was previously at NDGA, is also a former European champion who has worked as a coach at national level.

He was a member of Spelbound, who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2010 and performed at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Tigers offer a full range of elite and -recreational classes in both acrobatic and floor & vault disciplines – the latter is a new offering.

Tigers Gymnastics Centre are accepting new members in all of their classes, for beginners and experienced gymnasts.
