Football in the Community project can teach you how to play – and helps with life skills

TUNBRIDGE WELLS East Football in the Community is offering low-cost community coaching sessions which ‘provide local children with regular sporting activity to develop life skills such as respect and responsibility’.

The training, for both boys and girls, will be held at TN2 Sports Hall off Greggs Wood Road on Wednesdays from 5-6pm. The first session is free and then £2 each after that. The first meet is on Wednesday April 26.

According to the organisers, the community project was set up ‘because many local clubs are now full, which means a lot of local children are not getting the chance to play football, which we feel is a real shame’.

They added: “We will motivate young people and their families to be physically active and to lead healthy lifestyles and work with our local community, particularly those that are disadvantaged, to help raise aspirations and improve life chances around the Tunbridge Wells East area.”
