Adams rushes Rusthall to victory

Kent Football United 1 Rusthall 4

With goalkeeper Billy Johnson serving a one-match ban following his sending-off last week Matt Ballard made his first-team debut but with the Rustics in such dominant form he was seldom tested.

Rusthall took the lead after four minutes when Tommy Lawrence curled in a free kick from the right and central defender Ryan Styles headed in at the far post.

Rusthall continued to dominate with both full backs, Louis Anderson and Callum Gallie getting forward at every opportunity.

In another flowing move Anderson was tripped in the area and the division’s leading scorer Luke Adams sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.

Adams scored again in the 38th minute when the keeper spilled a driven cross from the right and and he was on hand to volley home his 15th goal of the season.

A minute later it was 4-0 with the goal of the game from Lawrence, the young midfielder calmly slotting his shot past the advancing keeper.

The Rustics were unable to keep up their dominance in the second period as the home side came out determined to gain a foothold in the game.

The Dartford side did get a consolation in the 67th minute when Robbie Bissett pushed an attacker in the box and Ryan Imbert struck the penalty past Ballard.

Third-placed Rusthall return to Jockey Farm to entertain Kennington, two points behind in fifth, on Saturday [December 14, kick-off 3pm].
