We went to

The Plant Base on Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells. The café, which opened last year specialises in whole foods and healthy, nutritious options.

We had

Usually, an Americano is my drink du jour, but feeling fancy, I opted for a mocha as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

The look

I got the coffee to take away, so it’s hard to know how it looked inside by the time I’d carted it across town and back to my deskbut the recyclable coffee cup it came in was nice!

The taste

I don’t have dairy, so can very rarely indulge in a mocha, but this – made with cacao and soy milk was dreamy! It was slightly bitter, which I loved, but surprisingly creamy. I managed to drain every last drop, and was sad when it ended!

The price

The mocha cost me £3.20, which is probably at the higher end of the hot drink scale, but it delicious. Plus, knowing it was dairy free was worth the price tag.
