Musical maestro

Pam Mills

You read his musical round-ups every week in the Times, now you have the chance to go and see Paul Dunton and his orchestra perform, both live at Trinity and in his new
video. He tells us who stars and how it was filmed locally

The Paul Dunton Orchestra return to their home town venue, Trinity Theatre, on March 24 as part of the Local & Live Sessions, and will perform tracks from their new
album, entitled Clearly Invisible.

The night has even more special significance as, during their performance, there will be an exclusive preview of the video for their lead single, Give Me A Reason. The video was recently shot at various locations in Kent and Sussex, including Tunbridge Wells, Groombridge and Ashdown Forest, by up and coming filmmakers Edward Burgos and Nick Faulkner.

Local actress Elise Verney plays The Muse, which is the main character. The storyline sees The Muse embark on a mysterious journey where she encounters different characters along the way, played by Paul and various members of his orchestra as well as Lydia Ramirez Padilla, Manager of The Grey Lady Music Lounge on The Pantiles, who plays the part of a Flamenco dancer.

Popular local acts Dan Clews and The Orange Circus Band will also be performing at the orchestral event on Saturday night. “The orchestra and I are so excited about the preview of the new video. We hope people enjoy it,” says Paul. “Edward and Nick have done such
an incredible job. And it was a huge team effort.

“The crew comprised Jason Cherot, Amrish Shah and Frank Hur, and they were all amazing, as were the cast. which also included Becky Andrew, Caroline Stead and Maia Walsh. “Everyone gave it their all which was just fantastic – especially as some of the shooting days were freezing cold, along with persistent wind and rain.” The music will start at 8pm, with The Paul Dunton Orchestra opening the night, followed by Dan Clews and The Orange Circus Band.

Tickets will cost £10 on the door, or can be booked in advance at www.trinitytheatre.net
