It’s another busy week across the local music scene and my top recommendations are as follows:
There are some great mid-week outings on offer and this Wednesday, The Stable returns to The Forum with a great line of local acts including The Alley Devils, The Flowing, John Mclane and Oscar Roche.
Also on Wednesday evening you can catch the exceptional David Migden & The Twisted Roots headlining The Grey Lady with support from Charlie Rivers and one man blues band Andy Twyman.
For fans of classical, jazz, pop and everything in between, the deeply talented ‘Lyrae Duo’ will be at The Trading Post this Thursday evening.
Good Friday evening offers some great gigs including popular local soloist Steffan James at The Spa Hotel and Higgs & The Bosons and Monkey Trap will be rockin’ The Royal Oak Pub. Renowned jazz singer Liane Carroll will be performing with her trio at The Scallywag Cafe on Good Friday and Easter Saturday night, supported by Earl Okin.
Easter Saturday night is in full swing across the local scene and you can catch many excellent local groups in action with Acoustic Atlas at The Beau Nash Tavern, Sean Fennessey & Friends at The Bedford Pub and I highly recommend supporting the launch of the new Tunbridge Wells Hospital Radio single at Grub & Liquor. Music starts at 1pm till late with a total of ten acts performing and Ryan Weeks headlining. If you fancy donning the dancing shoes then ‘Boogie Nights’ at The Forum or the ‘Lunar Rhythms’ at The Sussex Arms basement are two great options.
Close out the Easter weekend in style on Easter Sunday evening with The Harveys & Friends at The Royal Oak Pub. Local four-piece ‘Suncharmer’ are at The Forum and Harley & Woods will be offering a full band set at The Grey Lady. The Sussex Arms will be hosting a stellar alternative/rock night with Anavae, Veridian and Orestea all performing.
Looking ahead to next week, the highly entertaining ‘Ukelear Fallout’ will be at the Punch & Judy Pub in Tonbridge.
