Palm oil producer M.P. Evans, which is headquartered in Tunbridge Wells, saw its bottom line for the first half of the year (ending June 30) boosted by one-off gains from the divestiture of its stake in the North Australian Pastoral Co, netting £8.9million.

Pre-tax profits rose by £330,000 to £3.6million compared with the same period last year, while revenue declined from £28.7million to £22.7million as an extended period of drought impacted on overall crop tonnage.
