Legal secretary has made the shortlist in paralegal awards

A TUNBRIDGE WELLS-based legal secretary has been named as a finalist in the in this year’s National Paralegal Awards.

Ellie Sawyer from Loch Law, part of Loch Associate’s Group’s, has been named as best newcomer in the prestigious awards.

Ms Sawyer, who was ‘highly commended’ at last year’s awards, joined Loch Law in 2017 as an Administrative Assistant, and was soon promoted to the role of Legal Secretary.

Described by colleagues as a ‘self-starter and an ideal individual to train as a Paralegal’, Ms Sawyer qualified two-and-a-half years ago, and now supports the team on a range of employment and commercial law concerns.

Commenting on her nomination, Ms Sawyer said: “It’s a privilege to be shortlisted with so many high achieving young practitioners.”

She explained how excited she was to celebrate with colleagues and peers, stressing how privileged she felt to be a National Paralegal Award finalist for the second year running.

Managing Director Pam Loch said that staff are the ‘biggest asset’ to the business, explaining that the best service is provided by staff with a ‘strong sense of local community’.

As part of Loch Associates Group’s engagement with the Kent community, Ms Sawyer is involved in various fundraisers and community events, like ‘interTWine’, an initiative helping junior professionals locally.

The National Paralegal Awards winners will be announced on Thursday, September 22.
