Kent tourism boost

Kent tourist numbers are nearly a fifth ahead of where they were last year as the industry looks set to benefit from this year’s Indian summer.

So far in 2016 there has been an 18.8 per cent rise in the number of people visiting the county, marking the biggest year-on-year rise since 2013.

Early indicators suggest the trend continued in August, according to statistics released by tourism agency Visit Kent.
