Joules, which specialises in country-inspired clothing, footwear and accessories and has growing homeware, eyewear and other licensed product collections, shut its doors earlier this month, with the company confirming the store ‘has now permanently closed’.

While the retailer would not say why they shut the town store, the company does have a number of concessions in the area, including one in department store Fenwick in the shopping centre.

Elsewhere in Britain, the premium brand, which was founded by Tom Joule in 1989, has its eyes on expansion.

The company has just announced a new store in Glasgow’s intu Braehead shopping centre, which will add to the retailer’s 125 other locations, their e-commerce site and well-established wholesale business.
