Jenny Kitchen – Young Business Person of the Year 2016

Jenny Kitchen won her Times Business Award for Young Business Person of the Year

What did winning a Times Business Award mean for your business?

Being a finalist for any award is a great accolade, but winning one is, of course, incredible. We win quite a few awards as a company, but this was one of the first personal awards that I won. Winning the award gave us good exposure to the local business community, and helped promote all the great work that our local company does.

Other than winning your award, what was your favourite part of the night?
We had a great table with a few local businesses and we got to catch up with friends from other companies. Food, drink and company was excellent.

Why should other businesses enter the awards?
The awards are well respected locally, so it’s always a good idea to put yourself forward – who knows where it will take you!

Where do you display your award?
The award stands proudly in the entrance to the office.

What did winning a Times Business Award mean for your business?
It was wonderful for our company to receive recognition for the service that we provide to the local community. It is a major decision, for any parent or guardian, to entrust us with the responsibility of aiding their child’s educational development. Winning the award has lent substance to our, already-established, fantastic reputation as a provider of rigorous, fun and engaging supplementary learning.

Other than winning your award, what was your favourite part of the night?
It was a pleasure to meet other people from local businesses. Seeing others being recognised for their valuable contribution to the business community within Tunbridge Wells was a genuine joy. Meeting new people, listening to them and learning about what they do is one of the best and most enjoyable parts of running a business.

Why should other businesses enter the awards?
The awards offer a brilliant opportunity to advertise the business that you are so passionate about. More importantly, as a business-owner, it was fantastic for my staff to receive such formal recognition for all the hard work, dedication and expertise that they offer. It unites the workforce and allows all to share collectively in the joy of winning an esteemed award. It’s local recognition for local people!

Where do you display your award?
It has prime position on our front desk.

What did winning a Times Business Award mean for your business?
Winning the Times Business Award and becoming an award-winning agency hugely underpinned our credentials and has been extremely well received by both current and prospective clients. We directly received enquiries and won new clients as a result of the award and got some excellent press coverage too so it was fantastic for our brand.

Other than winning your award, what was your favourite part of the night?
The night itself was very entertaining, and was a useful networking event as we made some very good connections.

Why should other businesses enter the awards?
It’s a highly respected local award and a real feather in the cap of any business that wins, so to any business looking to enter the awards, we would say it’s very worthwhile!

Where do you display your award?
It’s prominently and proudly displayed in the office.

What did winning a Times Business Award mean for your business?
Winning an award is always a boost for a company and recognition of the hard work put in by the staff. The award from the Times of Tonbridge was particularly special as we were chosen by people who know our company personally, not just from reading the marketing! We now use the award in all advertising, and find that it is a very powerful tool. If you are looking for a new company, the one with the awards is the one that stands out from the crowd.

Other than winning your award, what was your favourite part of the night?
We had a fantastic night at the awards. It was a great evening to mix with other likeminded businesses, and the bonus of the opportunity to strut our stuff on the dance floor!

Why should other businesses enter the awards?
I would recommend the awards to any business, the rewards for the increase in morale, and the advertising potential are more than worth it.

Where do you display your award?
We display our award in a cabinet in the office, along with the others if I am allowed to show off! But we also display on all advertising, and the within the sign writing on all our vehicles.
